The key to Avila Soccer is personal attention. For years many of our best students have been helping us with the younger ones. Each player in the volunteer skills program was chosen because of their exquisite skills and most importantly because of their ability to work with children. A big "thank you" goes out to our volunteer skills trainers!

Samantha Johnsonis 16 years old and was born in Tucson, Arizona. She has lived in Austin since she was one, and is proud to be a Texan. Sam is home schooled, and has been since kindergarten. During her time in home school, she has proved to be self sufficient and responsible with her work. She is now attending Austin Community College under the early college start program. When she was nine she began to play soccer. She has been playing and loving soccer ever since. She now plays with the Lonestar soccer club on the 91 White team. She also plays high school soccer with St. Stephens Episcopal School.Sam is passionate about working with the younger athletes involved in soccer. She has demonstrated her passion by helping Eryck Avila with skills training at his facility for the past three summers. She is compassionate and has a true understanding of what it takes to bring out the best in these future athletes. Sam has studied under Eryck for the past four years, developing her skills and demonstrating her leadership abilities. Eryck has been a great inspiration and teacher. |

Sarah Johnsonis 14 years old and was born in Round Rock. Sarah has been home schooled since kindergarten and is now a nineth grader. Sarah is very responsible with her work and works very hard. When Sarah was seven years old, she began to participate in soccer with her sister. Being pushed by her older sister has made her a creative and amazing soccer player who is fun to watch. She now plays with the Lonestars on the 93 White team.She played high school soccer with the St. Stephens varsity squad as an 8th grader and performed amazingly. Sarah began to train with Eryck four years ago. He has taught her many skills that she learns quickly and uses effortlessly on the soccer field. Sarah does not participate in any other sports because her passion is with soccer. She has given her total attention to becoming the best soccer player she can be. Sarah is passionate about playing soccer and loves being on the field of battle with her friends. |

Kristin Wrightis 15 years old and a native Austinite. She attends Westwood High School, where she is pursuing an International Baccalaureate diploma while playing soccer and basketball. She started playing recreational soccer at Town & Country when she was five, followed by select soccer with the Warrior Soccer Association and then the Lonestar Soccer Club. She now plays goalkeeper on the Lonestars 92 Red team in the Region III Premier League West. She was a member of the South Texas Olympic Development Program Team in 2005 and 2006, and was an ODP team alternate in 2007.Kristin started training with Eryck when she was 11 with the specific objective of improving her foot skills, speed, and agility. In addition to achieving these goals, she also found that working with Eryck increased her confidence in her game, gave her a great workout, and was a lot of fun. It also taught her the value of setting a goal and working hard to attain it, which is a wonderful life lesson for any young person. As a Volunteer Skills Trainer at Avila Soccer, Kristin hopes to help younger athletes realize their goals, develop confidence in themselves and their abilities, and have a great time doing it. |

Kris Vrudhulais 10 years old and was born in Austin. Kris started playing recreational soccer at age 3 at Town and Country. He has participated in many regional 3v3 soccer tournaments where his teams have excelled. In January 2005, he participated in the Kick-It 3v3 National Tournament in Disneyworld where his team finished in the Top 10 in the nation.Kris began training with Avila Soccer in the Spring of 2005. Since that time, he has played with the CCU Academy and now for the Lonestar Select program on the 97 Silver team. Through his training at Avila, Kris has gained many valuable technical skills as well as perceptive skills that have helped him become an effective center midfielder. His shot technique, endurance and game-day attitude all have improved through his involvement with Avila Soccer. He is passionate about the game and has fun at it as well. Kris is in the 5th grade at Carraway Elementary. He enjoys Math and Science and is also in the Chess Club. Kris wants to be a business owner, architect, or engineer. Kris also would like to coach youth soccer and play for the MLS someday. |

Erick Bellowas born in Dallas, TX. He attends Leander High School, where he will be working on the International Baccalaureate diploma and playing soccer. Erick started playing soccer at age six in Washington State, where he lived for five years. Erick began select soccer at age 10 for Eclipse Soccer Club in Lake Stevens, WA. Throughout his life, Erick has played many sports. He has excelled in baseball, cross country, track, tennis, and receive his black belt in Tae Kwon Do at age nine.One of his great accomplishments this year was receiving the MVP award for Wiley Middle School, where he was the leading goal scorer in the district and captain of the team. He and his indoor team won the summer 2007 6v6 boy’s indoor season at Soccer Zone. Erick started as a Volunteer Skills Trainer at Avila Soccer in June 2007. He really enjoys working with the younger players and helping them attain new skills using the Avila method. He currently plays for LoneStar Soccer Club 93 White as a left forward. Erick stays busy playing piano, running cross country, and playing indoor/outdoor soccer. Erick goal’s in life includes playing in the European league UEFA and becoming a lawyer. |

Julia McIntoshis 13 years old and is an Eighth Grader at Deer Park Middle School. She has been playing soccer since she was five. And has been practicing on and off with Avila Soccer for the past five years. In her spare time (when not playing soccer) she enjoys art, watching movies, listening to music and hanging out with her friends.She currently plays on the Lonestar 95G Blue Team as a center midfielder most of the time. However there are times that the coach moves her around to try different positions. She looks forward to the having the opportunity to help Eryck this year. |
